Surrendered to the Black Immensity — regular CD edition & the 2014 website launch

After a long silence, Winterglow Records announces the regular CD edition of Surrendered to the Black Immensity, the debut full-length album by ambient black metal band Astral Rebirth — a bleak, atmospheric work filled with dissonant, raw and dreamlike sounds.

Astral Rebirth has taken a new path within the domestic black metal scene, becoming immersed in mysticism and a magnificent sound without precedent.

On each track we sail into deep seas, into the black immensity that this artwork seeks to express. Each note is a drop of water and each track an ocean to travel: an enveloping atmosphere of jagged soundscapes.

Their mesmerizing sound brings to mind the work of Darkspace, Paysage d’Hiver, Xasthur, Leviathan and Velvet Cacoon. To sail in the black ocean and feel a morbid fusion with it is what we find in this astonishing piece of art.

Tracklist

This announcement also marked a redesign of the Winterglow Records website, with simplicity and a strong focus on content. The aim was to make it easier to use, more interactive and more helpful to visitors.

This article preserves that historical announcement. The physical editions are currently listed as unavailable; visit the catalogue or contact the label with enquiries.
